The cabinetry is our “Autumn” stain applied to a rustic maple wood and finished with a brown glaze. “Golden Storm” granite is used in both of the rooms for the countertops. Entering the kitchen area, a customized hutch is located on the left. It features retractable doors for appliances, antique glass inserts, and glass shelves for displaying china and other glassware. The perimeter of the kitchen is anchored by an impressive stone feature that delineates the cooking area. Here, the professional series cooktop is flanked by custom corbels and pull-out base cabinetry that maximizes storage for spices and cookware. Twin built-in refrigerator and freezer units cap the right wing of the perimeter, while built-in ovens end the run on the left. The large center island is a baker’s dream with a built-in mixer, modular storage drawers and pull-outs, and plenty of countertop space. The raised bar island on the outside of the design features a seating area with custom corbels and wainscot paneling. The kitchen side of the island is used primarily as a prep zone. Pendant lights suspended from the vaulted ceiling illuminate work zones and dot the design with a dash of warm amber.
